This conducting opportunity is available to a Melbourne Conservatorium of Music student of Master of Music (Performance Teaching) or PhD candidate (Music) with conducting ability, who has demonstrated a high standard of musicality and potential to develop further their conducting skills.
The selected recipient will be warmly invited to conduct and tutor at the annual State Music Camp, with an expectation of engagement across 3-5 days of the State Music camp, held on DATE TBA (2025 dates were; July 7-11, 2025), in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
You will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check card. Home | Working with Children
The recipient of the State Music Camp Award will be asked to prepare a Personal Reflection on the experience of participating in the camp to be submitted to the camp and appropriate academic staff within one month of completing the camp. This reflection will highlight the student’s personal experience, growth and challenges throughout and also provide an opportunity to articulate feedback to the camp on the successes and any failures of the experience, to benefit the future student learning experience.
