The Rosemary and John Hopkins Award Information

Award information

The Rosemary and John Hopkins Award is for a conductor of any age, to assist with a youth or community music project.

You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to be eligible.

The successful project, ideally to be completed within the Award year (2025/2026) should be creatively conceived and may be undertaken in partnership with other youth or community organisation(s) such as orchestra, ensemble, choir or school. It is intended that recipients of the Award would gain high level practical experience, develop a commitment to and a greater understanding of community and youth music projects and their possibilities to improve society and disadvantaged communities. These attributes very much reflect the vision and values of John Hopkins, so it is a very fitting memory of his life and achievements.

The recipient is asked to provide a completion statement via email following the conclusion of their activities. This will be forwarded to the donors for inclusion on the Hopkins Facebook page (18) Rosemary and John Hopkins Award for Conductors | Facebook.
